Michael
Woods began working as an illustrator at The Sunday
Times in London more than 30 years ago after a
2 year period teaching art in a secondary school.
He went freelance
in 1972 and since then has worked for major publishers
in Britain, Europe and the United States of America.
Specialising in
natural history and biological subjects since
1976 he has provided illustrations for innumerable
books, for part works, periodicals and newspapers.
For many years he has illustrated the nature column
in the weekend edition of the Daily Telegraph
and in the Royal Horticultural Society Journal
& "The Garden".
Other recent work
includes material for a childrens science encyclopedia
and textbooks for american high school students.
